Peter C. Dozzi Pittsburgh Internship Initiative
The Peter C. Dozzi Pittsburgh Internship Initiative was created in 2004 through a generous gift by Mr. Peter C. Dozzi, founder of Jendoco Construction Corporation, a Pittsburgh organization founded in 1957. The scholarship money is made available through the Carnegie Mellon Career and Professional Development Center for students who will be staying in the Pittsburgh Region to complete a summer internship experience.
This is a needs-based grant which aims to help offset expenses incurred during internships. Scholarships of up to $3,000 each are awarded to individuals across a diverse group of Carnegie Mellon's six colleges for the summer. Internships must be unpaid or underfunded. The scholarship money is disbursed in May or June as a non-qualified scholarship payment. Internships typically cover a 6 to 10-week period (180 hour minimum). Carnegie Mellon on-campus positions and summer research internships are not eligible for the Dozzi Fund. Research at Pittsburgh institutions outside of CMU is allowed. The application opens on February 1st and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The final deadline for applications is May 2, 2025. To apply for Dozzi, students must complete the Canvas course Internship Funding: Eligibility and Application Instructions.
Student Eligibility
All Carnegie Mellon undergraduate students from any college or school who have met the following criteria may apply:

Have received an offer for an unpaid or underfunded internship (pay is not adequate to cover the expenses incurred for the internship) from an employer in the Pittsburgh region
- Enrolled in classes as an undergraduate student for the Spring 2025 semester and Fall 2025 semester.
